Marco Weijers - Country Manager for Germany and The Netherlands
Marco manages business development in Germany and in The Netherlands. He is supported by a team of trainers, who can deliver projects throughout the German speaking community, including Austria, Switzerland and The Netherlands. Previous to working with Huthwaite, Marco built a successful career in sales and international sales management within leading medical devices companies. He joined the Huthwaite group in 2003, working in Holland, his native country, as part of the team there before taking on his present role.
Marco is experienced in delivering the full range of Huthwaite courses and has language capabilities in English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Russian. He has great understanding of cultural differences by both country and industry and tailors his solutions to fit with the needs and expectations of these cultures. He works across many sectors including Healthcare, IT, Manufacturing, Legal and Financial Services and at all levels within these organisations such as Salespeople, the Board, Customer Services, Marketing, Technicians and Engineers.
Marco’s specialist area is in integration of sales and marketing processes and aligning messages from innovation to the target audience. He has been involved in many initial sales upfront with large multinational companies and believes in getting to the heart of an organisation to truly understand their needs. He has taken a highly tailored academy approach with many of his clients and works with various sizes of organisation maintaining the same high standard of solution in all of his projects.
His training style is very professional and he enjoys passing his knowledge on behaviour change to his delegates to improve their bottom-line results. He strongly believes in all the Huthwaite products and their effectiveness and also being a ‘safe pair of hands’, which is evident in his teaching. He recognises the need for training to add value to the client and be relevant. Marco planned on being an independent consultant but after working with Huthwaite and evaluating their research based products he decided to join the Huthwaite team. He is also a member of the Sales Management Association in the Netherlands.
