Huthwaite International Wins Queen’s Award for Enterprise, International Trade 2008
Top behaviour change consultancy achieves 138 per cent sales increase over three years – new office to accommodate company-wide expansion
Wentworth, 21 April 2008: Huthwaite International has received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, International Trade 2008, in recognition of the successful growth of its global business, which has seen a dramatic 138 per cent sales increase over the past three years.
“This Award is a fitting tribute to the tremendous efforts of both our staff and expanding global partner network,” believes Huthwaite International managing director, Tony Hughes. “Importantly, it also reflects the continuing loyalty of those major international clients with whom we have worked over many years.”
Consistent approach
Historically, Huthwaite’s success over 30 years has been based on the ability to combine its research-based methodology with the ability to quantify and measure sales improvement. “Our global strategy is a direct extension of this approach,” Hughes confirms, “by providing international clients with consistent, high quality sales and behaviour change delivery across multiple geographies, languages and business environments.”
Huthwaite’s approach is designed to address two distinct markets: winning multi-national sales academy-type training business across global clients and growing new markets via local licensees and specialist indigenous trainers.
“Put simply, our goal is to provide international consistency with a local touch,” says Hughes. “Key to success has been our ability to select licensees and partners who understand the local commercial environment and then help them build strong relationships with international companies trading locally.”
Centralised support for this tightly-controlled network includes employing local language skills at Huthwaite’s head office, dedicated web pages in the local language on the company’s website and standardised ‘train the trainer’ programmes. In addition, regular training and quarterly meetings take place with all licensees in each country to maintain its quality standard.
Most recently, Huthwaite extended its network into the Middle East through its partnership with Cairo-based LOGIC Management Consulting; similarly an agreement with SDO Consultoria, in Portugal, just announced, has extended its pan-European presence.
Office expansion
Reflecting the company’s continued broader growth; Huthwaite International has also opened an additional office in Tankersley, a few miles from its Wentworth, South Yorkshire head office.
“Both in the UK and internationally, Huthwaite’s strongly IP-based approach to performance improvement continues to prove uniquely valuable to businesses seeking to implement a consistently high level of training across their business,” concludes Hughes.
