About Huthwaite - Meet Our People
Janet Curran - Research & Design Consultant
Within Huthwaite International's R&D department Janet has mainly specialised in researching and developing innovative solutions for changing behaviour and results within customer service, retail and teleselling environments. She holds a PhD in retail marketing and has extensive experience in the design and development of training solutions for a wide range of clients, incorporating both face-to-face and technology based solutions.
Prior to joining Huthwaite, Janet worked as a self-employed consultant and conducted training within the banking, retail and public sectors, working with various levels of staff throughout organisations. Her cultural awareness is excellent and one of her skills is adapting Huthwaite materials to fit with regional requirements and specific needs. This development of materials for local marketplaces has led to a great relationship with our local operations around the world. She speaks fluent Spanish as well as having a diploma in Spanish and Latin American studies.
Janet is the master trainer for Huthwaite's CARE and PITCH courses and for accrediting trainers in these skills. She has also helped with development of other key offerings such as our Negotiation course and Account Strategy Toolbox. She has been involved in large projects for major retailers, which required her input at every stage including research, needs analysis, design, account development, implementation and evaluation.
Some of Janet's current projects have moved towards the B2B arena, developing solutions such as Winning with Procurement, Sales Competency and Account Development for some of our largest clients. Other recent projects include a wide-scale behavioural analysis of retail sellers and of complaint handlers in call centre environments, project managing Huthwaite's Virtual Training Campus, and working on the design for Huthwaite's Winning with Procurement event.
Janet has conference speaking experience and has presented on her research findings at events such as the ICS forum. As a trainer she likes to give insight into something new and how it can be integrated back in the workplace. She feels strongly about practical application and likes to get inside the head of her target group.
